Who am I?
Well, I'm a person. I was born, I grew up, I found the internet. I got married at some point in there. I prefer to avoid gender and sexuality labels.
I read. A lot. I occasionally fangirl.
I'm here to stay in touch with friends old and new.
This should definitely be considered an adult journal - I can and will link to and discuss adult topics.
My main fandom is currently Fullmetal Alchemist, with Saiyuki coming up from behind. Weiss Kreuz and Gundam Wing remain old favorites, as does Final Fantasy VII.
When I read fanfic, I prefer slash or yaoi (male/male) pairings. I have nothing against het pairings or female characters, but it is exceedingly easy to find that in mainstream fiction, and so I don't seek it out in fanfiction unless the pairing is particularly interesting to me. I have more OTP's than you can shake a stick at (ironic as that is) and am a firm believer in OT3's.
As far as published works go, I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy, as well as paranormal romance. I'm also a fan of gay romance and erotica.
I friend people randomly and usually without warning - for their fanworks, their sparkling wit, both, or neither. I don't expect to be friended in return just because I added someone, and harbor absolutely no hard feelings if they decide not to add me back. Maybe someday, they'll want to keep track of me as well. Maybe not. It's all good.
I love communities, as you may be able to tell from how many I have listed. Yeah, I get hit with a fair number of crossposts, but it's worth it every time that I see something that I would have otherwise missed. I prefer to join a comm rather than simply watch it. I think ratings communities are grand, as are the fandom newsletters.
I go through spurts of chattering away - when I speak up, I tend to go on and on. I still have lurker tendencies, but I'm getting better about replying and reviewing.
I have strong opinions, and I speak my mind. I do however try to be tolerant and respectful of other's opinions - I welcome discussion because it prompts me to broaden my views and ensures that my beliefs have a solid basis.
I'm a recovering lj-cut addict.
I do have accounts on both GreatJournal and InsaneJournal, but am not planning on using them for anything other than finding people who have left LJ.
